The short version

Who runs Block Friends

Block Friends is made by 2space, contact: 08.2space@gmail.com.

Information saved on your device

To remember your progress, the game uses your browser's local storage. This stays on your device. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this website.

Saved progress and save codes

We save your rank, points, unlocked and equipped items, win/loss record and last 10 matches on our server, linked to the random ID your browser made and to a save code shown in your profile. Anyone who has your save code can load your progress, so keep it private. Ask us at the contact address below to delete a save.

The live leaderboard

To show who is playing right now, the game sends our server your nickname, chosen icon, border and title, rank (MMR), win and loss counts, whether you are in a match, and a random ID made by your browser (it does not identify you). Your entry disappears from the leaderboard about a minute after you close the game and is deleted from the live list within a few minutes. We keep the random ID and your last rank so you keep your rank when you come back. Nicknames are unique, so we also keep a list of which random ID has used which nickname; a nickname stays reserved for the player who chose it. Nicknames are filtered before anyone sees them.

Invites and daily bonus

If you join through a friend's invite link, we note which nickname invited you, so we can give them their reward once you've played a match. We also keep the times of your visits (when each started and how long it lasted, up to your last 100) to work out your daily bonus streak and to see how the game is being played.

Private rooms

When you play a friend in a private room, our room server passes your nickname, icon, border, title and live board between you and your friend only, for as long as you are both in the room. Nothing from a room is saved after you leave. There is no chat. Your friend never sees your IP address.

Children's privacy

Block Friends is a general-audience game and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13: the game has no accounts, email sign-ups or chat. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us at 08.2space@gmail.com and we will delete it.

Advertising

Ads on this site are provided by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology to show ads, including ads based on your interests, measure them and prevent fraud. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU, UK and some US states) you'll see a consent message first, and you can opt out of personalized ads. Learn more in Google's advertising policies. Ads are never shown while a match is being played.

Measuring our ads

We advertise Block Friends with Google Ads. The site includes the Google tag, which tells Google Ads when someone who clicked one of our ads visits, so we can see which ads work. Google may use cookies for this; where the law requires it you'll be asked for consent first. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Website hosting

Our web host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the site running. The site is hosted by Netlify, and private rooms run on Cloudflare.
